Proposal Blog

For my argument paper i have decided to side with the argument that Internet addiction is a true disorder. In my research i have found that there are a lot of people who feel they are troubled by this disorder. I have also had an experience with Internet addiction. when i was younger I was always trying to get online whenever i could. My mom ended up making a rule that I was only allowed to be on for a half hour a day because between my sisters and i we were always on. But when i was at my grandmas or my dads I could be online whenever i wanted for however long that i wanted. I think that the addiction is real because i think i fell under the category of being addicted. I think that there is enough research out there to support my claim. There are also good arguements that say that it is not an addiction but I think people need to realize that there are people who really have this addiction and need help dealing with it.

Reflection Blog

For my multimodal project I worked on internet addiction. One thing that really upsets me about this class is the fact that no one ever told me what this class was going to be like. I thought it was going to be just another English class where we wrote papers and did research and learned how to be a better writer. No one told me everything was going to be on the computer. I am not good with computers and everytime I ask for help whoever is helping me gives me attitude or looks at me like im stupid because i dont know what they are talking about. It really makes me mad. How am I supposed to succeed in this class working on projects like this if when i ask for help i dont get any? This class is so confusing i never know whats going on I think it is ridiculous. But the project that I have done. I did it to the best of my ability. The podcast part is ridiculous i think because it doesnt make any sense why we need it. The power point i think is pointless but it's ok I did it anyway. it was difficult I guess because I do not really know how to do a podcast no one explained it, we were givin a tutorial but that really doesnt help. This project really isn't going to help me learn to do anything with what I plan to do later in life.

Internet addiction true or just an excuse

My research question is is there such a thing as internet addiction? My claim to that statment is yes there is such a thing as internet addiction due to the research i have done I have found doctors who will argue both sides. Some will say yes internet addiction is a true addiction. The others would argue that internet addiction is just an excuse for excessive internet use.
